thoughts on suicide

ey guys so recently i had a friend at shcool who i guess just couldnt handle life. he was a great friend of mine and i miss him a lot.  He alwasy seemed like the happiest most fun loving person ever. my thoughts oon suicide aare its never a good choice. i often wonder how many deaths caused by suicide there where in the middle ages. correct me if im wrong but i think a loot less.  i often wonder what knd of society we live in where peoples first choice is to end their own lives. i dont understand why they cannot see the good in life and get through it and i know its hard but you have to be strong for the people who love and chersish you. I dont havea a whole lot of time but i just want to say suicide is never the answer. i llove and cherish all of you and please never hurt yourself in any way shape or form. ........ that is all

Horrible t.v.

Well I'm in saint George and I have been watching a lot of shows on discovery channel, iv realized something... A lot of them really are not that entertaining. All the commercials advertise exiting things like finding giant hunks of gold or huge explosions, but a lot of the time that is for a couple seconds of a 30 minute to 1 hour show, and furthermore, the commercials completely oversell that one second of the 30 minute to 1 hour show. What makes me mad the most is the show gold rush. How can it possibly be the #1 show on the discovery channel if nothing happens? Then if that really is true that must mean the other shows suck even more than that one, and I know for a fact that when they find one little speck of gold in that 30 to one hour show that it's not the number one thing on discovery channel, especially when the only show I hear about on discovery channel is myth busters, they are definitely my favorite show and the only show I ever hear about on discovery channel

Another channel that bugs me is cartoon network, more like adult swim. Adult swim comes on at 9:00 mouton time. The thing is adult swim is on the same channel as cartoon network, I know plenty of people who are thougrougly entertained by cartoon network (specifically people of the younger age). After that 9:00 rolls around they are exposed to things that are completely unnatural and alien to them, things that are meant for the adult world . Something else that bugs me is thinking about cartoon network and adult swims conference concerning this. "oh I have an idea let's put an adult program on right after a children's channel" it's almost like they are trying to turn the children of today into perverted (for a lack of better words) freaks who know nothing more than things like sex, alcohol and drugs.

It was just on my mind, other than that I really enjoy television as does any normal teenager

High school

So today was my second day of school at Jordan high school. At Jordan we have a and b days and today was my first b day. So technically it was the first time i finished my entire schedule for school. i have a feeling that i am going to like a days better than b days. a days i have health gym algebra and biology. on b days i have Spanish seminary world civ and ela or language arts. now that i think of it, i may like the days evenly. either way i am still psyched to be in high school.

my favorite class so far has got to be either world civ or seminary. I have always loved being in seminary and this year seems like its going to be just as good. At first world civ seemed like it was going to be a boring class but the teacher is freaking amazingly awesome. not only does he let you text in class, sluf and listen to music but he just sucks you in with his stories. he told us a story today about one of his old college teachers that he is old friends with. i don't want to get into detail about the story but i could not take my eyes and ears away from this amazing man. i can already tell that i am going to have a very good student experience with him. also when he is lenient on the rules you can tell it is because he expects you to take advantage of the opportunity but not abuse it because he trusts the class. and the way he was talking and telling us the story, it makes me not want to disobey him.

well i am still excited to be at Jordan and i am probably going to be excited for a long time. until next time, cya!

interesting local news

So i was sitting at my computer when i started to realize something. hey i have a blog! now i know only a few people follow it but i thought what the heck. So i decided i will talk about this summer and me going into high school. This summer has been pretty awesome i must say. I have done so many things like camping, going to lagoon, timpanogas cave, swimming almost every day and hanging with my friends and Amanda. it is exactly 7 pm on the last day of summer 2011 and im way exited for high school. I will be attending jordan high school and i have heard many good things about it.

An interesting story, this summer a girl who was going to be a 12th grader at jordan got in a car crash and was killed while she was coming home from her trip to wyoming. i dont know her name but her and her grandmother where killed in the crash. her entire family was in the car. i believe the little sister was in the ICU but was released. sadly i was not able to ever meet this girl. there where a lot of fund rasers for her family, and on the first day of school we are all wearing purple, her favorite color. sadly i have no purple... ya it sucks. well i give the family my most sincere apology and i hope they will be alright.

So another story. Eastmont middle school will be changing from 7-9 to 6-8. im not sure when the change will occur but i know it is sometime around when my 8 year old brother will be in 6th grade. i dont really have any outside news so until next time i decide to write. peace off.

what i want out of high school

Well first off I want to say that I am really exited for high school I am so exited to have new experiences and do new things. What I want out of it is to be able to participate in things like sports and clubs like soccer or chess club haha go chess. What I also want out of it is something that I didn’t get in my years as a middle schooler. Good grades, I really want a better chance to get good grades in high school so that after hisgh school I can get a good job and be able to support a family. I think that this year in middle school I got teachers that aren’t neccesarilly bad teachers but didn’t really teach the best way for me to learn. I really hope I get the teachers that teach the way I like to learn so that I am acualy able to learn the things that are required for me to graduate.

Now with clubs and sports I really want to be involved with the school and I want to be doing as many things as I possibly can be at once. If I don’t get the chance to do these extracurricular things I wont have as good of a time at high school as I possibly could be having. I want to have the best experience I can at high school. I have heard from many people including my parents that high school was the greatest years of their lives. I want to be able to say the same things to my kids dash other people that ask me the question. I also might not show it but I really love and if I do say so myself I am really good at soccer. I am sad I didn’t get the chance to join and tryout for the Jordan team this year but I want to be able to play next year. I love sports and I love doing them. It will be especially fun to be able to play for Jordan because it is my favorite school ever and I will be able to play with all of my friends that are on the Jordan team.

However there are some bad things that I don’t want to happen during high school. I don’t want to be the kid that get bullied in school like getting teased and getting his lunch money taken away. I also don’t want to be the kid that is bullying other kids. I want to be the kid that thrives in his grades, Is nice to every single person in the school. I want to be the kid that is involved with everything available at the school. Overall I just want to have the best three years of high school of my live. I really want to be able to tell stories of high school to my children and grandchildren. So that is what im going to do

Template reveiw # 5

ime for template review # 5 baby!!! Again I was given an article to read and give a review on and here it goes. ARE YOU READY!!!!? Let’s go

Question 1) Give and overview of the article. Well this article is just talking about a town call pripyat just a couple miles away from Chernobyl. It talks about a guide taking tourists through this ghost town, he warns them not to touch anything with your bare hand. This town became a ghost town when a nuclear reactor lost all of its materials stored inside it and the prevailing winds brought all of the waste over this town. In a small schoolhouse you can find childrens books and toys, and also children sized gas masks for the children. Most of the population fled the city when the nuclear reactor went off.
Question 2) What are key points in the article? I think its important to understand that its so radioactive the tourists have to decontaminate their clothes when they are done visiting the town.
Question 3) What did I find striking or interesting about these key points? I think it’s crazy how bad things can be in the world.’
Question 4) How relevant would this be if this happened to you? Honestly I don’t know, I don’t think we have any nuclear reactors nearby but its definetly possible.
Question 5) What do I agree or disagree with in this article? N/A
Question 6) How has this article influenced me in thinking deeply about my values, beliefs and assumptions? It makes me really want to study these reactors and see how they end up going off and killing a lot of people.
Question 7) What further information or knowledge could I look for to find updates on this article and the family involved in it? Same as always.

Template review #4

Who is exited for template review # 4!!! I was just given an article and asked to read it so here come the review questions.

Question 1) Give an overview of the article. Well for me it was very hard to depict what the story was trying to say or what message it was trying to get across. I’m pretty sure it’s about a man who wrote a book about the bombing of Hiroshima. People really liked the book since it was told by him as the character in the book and he was there. But there was a lot of debate on whether he was really there or not. Basicly the entire article is about people arguing about him being there.
Question 2) What are the key points in this article? Well it’s good to try and decide for yourself weather you think he was there or not. Not really a point but it’s something.
Question 3) What did I find striking or interesting about the key point? Well It’s suprising there is this much debate, I mean the presedent has records of him being there.
Question 4) How relevant would this be if this happened to you? Well I don’t think very relevant because I am not nor have I been thinking about joining the military.
Question 5) What do I agree or disagree with in this article? I agree with the people that think that he was there.
Question 6) How has this article influenced me in thinking deeply about my values, beliefs and assumptions? Same answer as the last review, respect your elders.
Question 7) What further information or knowledge could I look for to find updates on this article and the family involved in it? Well I am starting to think that I don’t really need to answer this anymore, It’s usually the same answer every time.

template review 3

Well I just read an article assigned to me in my journalism class. It was a pretty interesting article and I am ready for the template review.

Question number 1) Give an overview of the article. Well its about a woman who just died recently and according to her family she has over 2000 desendents counting kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and even great grand kids. The story is about here and her life going through the hollacaust and just being a good mother to her kids. One of her children even said that of her 16 kids she never forgot who’s face and name belonged to them. When they had kids and grandkids  the same principal applied.
Question 2) What are key points in the article? I think it is good to pay attension to she was in the holocaust and she had all these kids and lead them through it.
Question 3) What do I find interesting about these key points? I find it interesting that she was able to do all of this for her kids and still have them all survive that.
Question 4) How relevant would this be if it happened to you? Well not relevant at all because im not a mother, I don’t live in Germany and when I am a parent I’m not going to have 16 kids.
Question5) What do I agree or disagree with in this article? The only thing I can have an opinion on this is the holocaust and I’m very sorry it happened and  I strongly disagree with it.
Question 6) How has this article influenced me in thinking deeply about my values, beliefs and assumptions? Well it makes me want to respect the elderly a lot more because no one but them knows what they have been through in their lives.
Question 7) What further information or knowledge could I look for to find updates on this article and the family involved in it? Same answer as always

template reveiw #2

Well I just read the article titled " Officials see slander in Uzbek photos, but artists see censorship". It was a pretty interesting article and much much different from the one we read yesterday. So it's time to answer the questions.

Question 1) Give an overveiw of the article. Well this article is about a woman named Umida Akhmedova who went to uzbekistan to take some photos of the people there. She takes pictures of kids with sad faces and ragged clothing, or adults who are begging for a second chance and none of the people in the photos are bathed. The government sees these photos and she goes to court with a sentence of 3 years on the line. luckily the goverment show simpathy and lets her get away with no prison.

Question 2) what are key points in the article? well one good point you should pay attension to is that she gets sentenced to jail for something as simple as picures, also that she gets away with no jail time.

Question 3) What did i find striking or interesting about these points? Well I find it striking that she got away with no fines. Ussualy if the court is sentencing her to prison they dont change their minds.

Question 4) how relevant would this be if it happned to you? well I dont think it would be very relevant because althogh I do enjoy photography I dont really do much of it

Question 5) What do i agree or disagree with in this article? well i agree with the picures being spectacle and bad but I dont agree with the zero prison time.

Question 6) How has this article influenced me in thinking deeply about my values, beliefs and assumptions? Well it makes me realize that people in general should really pay attension to what could happen to them in the future if they make the decisions that they make.

Question 7) What further information or knowledge could i look for to find updates on this article and the family involved in it? Well for this I'm going to have the same answer as the last reveiw, try to stay with the news and find some sort of blog that talkes about this.

leave a comment and tell me what you think I do read your comments if you were wondering

template reveiw

Well I just read an article that was given to me by my teacher and i was asked a few questions. I will answer as many of these questions as I can.

question number one. Give an overveiw of the article. Well it was mainly about these two characters, loo and the kin brothers. It's about how both of these characters (kin brothers being two people) who have troubles in their lives and never give up. They end up being very sucsesfull and very well known. Loo woke up every morning looking out her window and seeing the mountains and wanted to snowboard. I wont go into detail but she misses qualifying for the olympics by 11-hundreths of a second. thats pretty close. If I was an olympic judge I would have mercy and let her try again right away, but she doesnt get that chance. The kin brothers borrowed some money, came to America not knowing any english, haveing no job, and no money. Basicly they don't give up and become sucsesfull.

Question 2) What are key points in the article? I think the point that they dont ever give up is a very important point.

Question3) What did i find striking or interesting in this point? well nothing really struck me hard but i did like that they never gave up.

Question 4) How relevant would this be if this happned to me? well the only difference is I ski not snowboard and I'm not canadian.

Question5) What do I agree or disagree with in this article. I dont think there is really a subject in this article that you could have a disagree or agree type of opinion to.

Question6)   How has this article influenced me in thinking deeply about my values, beliefs and assumptions? I think its made me remember how important it is to never give up on your dreams.

Question 7)   What further info or knowledge could i look for to find updates on this article and the family involved in it? Well if they have some sort of blog I could try and follow that.

Local news

Not many people have heard about this but something recently happened at alta high school either this week or last week. Here is the story that I heard. you may have heard a different story, but this is what I heard. I dont even know if this is true but here it goes.

Last week or this week at alta high school a new kid came to the school on a day they where supposed to wear the alta hawks school colors. Well the only item of clothing that this kid had that was the colors of alta was a kkk or kuh kluks klan or however you spell it and say it sweater and or t-shirt. As he was walking down the hallway in the school the principal was walking by and she saw him and said hi... lets call him fred. She said to fred that she or he ( I dont know the principal) was proud that he was wearing the school colors. But listen to this. this is where the story gets weird. The principal saw him with the sweater... thats it. she didnt do anything about it. Nothing at all. Later on in the day the student was walking outside and he came across a police man and he asked him why he was wearing the shirts when he knew it was wrong. the studend responded to him saying that that was the only clothing item in his closet that was suitable for the school colors, he also said that he thaught it was alright because the principal saw him with it on and didn't do anything about it. The police man confronted the principal and this is where I started not to pay attension. This is what im pretty sure was said. The principal was either fired or suspended from her job and, another weird part is the student wasn't punished at all. not even getting the sweater confiscated. I think the student should be punished even if he dindt know it wasnt right.

This is what should have happened. I think the student should atleast be confiscated the sweater, then he should have been tried in court and possibly been arested. If I where a cop I would go and talk to the parents and give them a talk and tell them how crappy of parents they are. If parents are letting their child where shirts that represent the worst gang in the history of the united states of america. If you don't know what the kkk is youre messed up. well maybe not but look it up and learn about them because kids in high school shouldnt be wearing things that represent that

This just showes that this kid has not, doesn't, and will not have a good life. No offense to the familly but he is one of those kids that are going to be in a gang for there entire lives. He is going to be one of the kids that gets arrested constantly and is vandalizing property and doing drugs and all these bad things that now human being should have to do or go through. This kid needs help from someone that has gone through this. I used to watch this show where a guy named steve biko helped people like this and I just wish the show was still on so i could send him here. And the principal too. I am personaly going to go find steve biko and make him run this show again. I'm also going to talk to the channedl he was on and make them put him on again because this kid needs help in his life. Leave a comment below and tell me what you have heard and what you think should happen

Japan...

I'm sure that everybody in the world who has news access has heard about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Personaly i think it is horrible what can happen in the world. I was asked a question in my geography class, what effect did the disaster in Japan have on the U.S.? I didn't have much of and answer, but when we all put our answers together we had come up with so many things. From some of the tsunami hitting california, to radiation getting into the water in 16 of the states, all the way down to car companys losing specific car models and paint pigments. The debate in the class was weather we should help them by sending workers and money and things like that.

Another interesting thing is how all the people who wright the news need to get their facts straight. I compared two newspapers from the same morning from two differents sources that i wont mention. They were posted within the same hour of eachother, same kind of story, exept for one thing. one of them or the other one didnt have their facts right. One article said there was only one dead, while the other one said there where over 1,000 dead. Most articles now have agreed on the same amount of deaths. I don't know the exact number but i know that it is crazy high.

What I wish would happen is people from the U.S. would go over there and help out or send money or resourses or something. I do understand that there are people who are doing this but I just wish that more would participate. I also want to find a way for me to help out. I think the school should hold a fund raiser were we can donate money or food or supplies, just something and we get rewards for it to encourage us to help the people in japan.  I want to take a group of people and go over there to help with the clean up and help rebuild the cuties and donate food and things to get them back on their feet.

Another thing we talked about in our class was who should help them or if they even needed help. Most of the talking was about either china helping them out since they are so close, or them helping themselves out, after all they are a pretty strong country and not all of it was hit. They have a lot of resources and people to help out. But if we helped them out we may be releifed of some of our trillions of dollars of debt to them. That accually may be what most americans want to do, it may have them paying less taxes.

Some detail on the earthquake, tsunami, and aftershocks. The earthquake hit about midday and it was origionaly rated a 8.9 earthquake on the richter scal. after all of this stopped, the earthquake was rated a 9.0 on the richter scale. for those who dont know much about earthquakes and the richter scale this is a pretty serious earthquake. The aftershock was almost as bad as the earthquake itself. The tsunami was pretty amazing as well. it completely took out the shoreline and everything along with it. It took out shipyards, oil rigs, fisheries, etc. Overall this thing was pretty devastating, it killed many people and it destroyed many shorline cities. This has effected the people of japan majorly and we need to help because in the long run it will help us as well. Leave a comment below and tell me what you think about this and what you want to or would do if you could to help.

Tomorow

Aw man, tomorrow is going to be amazingly awesome. The symphonic band at school gets to go and see other schools preform. But the best part is we get to preform also. YAY! The other best thing is we are the best. And the third best thing is we got to do this exact same thing for jazz band last week. I'm pretty sure we are the best band ever, also the other schools faces are no longer with us.

After the preformance we get to go to the mall and just hang out for a couple of hours. last week me and 2 other people who shall not be named went and got giant burritos. Then like the idiots we are decided to go and get an extra large pizza. It may have been the best pizza ever, but i threw up when i got home so not good.

Anyway we get to do the exact same thing tomorrow and I am very exited. I get to tell people if they ask me what I did at school today i can so. "oh i went to a concert and then to the mall..." they'll be like "WHAAAT!?" anyway if you are exited for eastmont please leave a comment you know i love it when you comment.

Is blogging journalism

People say that blogging is not journalism. Journalists say that blogging is a looming enemy that is trying to corrupt journalism. I really don't think that that is true, I mean isnt journalism writing about events that happen in the world? Isn't that what blogging is too? Here are some other things that people say.

Charles Darwin once said, "it is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change,". What this means is that the most important thing to survival is being able to adapt to change. Someone said that blogging isnt the threat to journalism, fear of change is.

Someone said that blogging is not journalism but things like twitter, newspapers, and tvs are, because they are tools and talk about news. I see where they are coming from but blogging can be news worthy too. People talk about the news on their blogs all the time.

Jay Rosen describes bloggers as "speakers and writers of their own ibvention, at large in the public square. they"re participating in the great game of influence called public opinion. and thy're developing, mostly through labors of love, what I've called an extremely democratic medi tool."

Leave a comment below to tell me if you think blogging isnt or is journalism, also if you give me your blogger info i will follow you and read your opinion on this. Again I do think that blogging is journalism on some levels only however. if people are talking about random stuff that is obviously not journalism. Leave a comment.

Jhon Lennon

I'm pretty sure that everybody in the world knows who Jhon Lennon is. If you dont he was in the beatles. If you don't know the beatles then you don't know music. He was born 9 October 1940, and died 8 december 1980 when he was fourty years old.

He was born and raised in liverpool, where he became involved in his first band called skiffle cafe, eventually this band became the beatles. Jhon became a solo artist after a while, plastic ono band. was one of his albums.

Jhon quit the music buissnes in 1975, to help with his familly, but got back into it in 1980 with a new album double fantasy. tragicly, Jhon was murdured three weeks after its first release. Lennon revealed a rebellious nature in his music, and as you probably know many many people respected him... exept for the person who murdured him of course.

Personally I am very sad that he had to be murdured and i wish that he could have been alive so the beatles where able to make good music. Leave a comment below to tell me how you feel about his death. I know it was 1980 but a lot of people are still mad about it

facebook taking over

Have you ever noticed that no one ever talkes about myspace or twitter at all? Well my question is why? I think I have a good argument for this. Have you noticed how facebook is amazingly more convinient and fun than myspace or twitter? Here are some reasons that everybody is now stoping with myspace and no one is signing up for twitter and they are now going to facebook.

Reason one, is facebook is way less complicated that twitter or myspace, it is much easier to find out whats going on, it is also much easier to start a conversation with someone online. You dont have to worry about all the clutter from adds and confusion on what is acually myspace and what is adds,(comparison to myspace). On twitter you cant even talk to other people, all twitter does is let you post things... thats it, (comparison to twitter). With facebook it is a lot more convinient and you also get all the fun games... like farmville:)

Reason two, you can do many many more things on facebook than on twitter or myspace. Ya sure you can have your favorite song or custumize you background but that is vertually it. Not on facebook. You can like things, play games, wish people happy birthday, and most importantly, poke people. All in all facebook is more fun.

Another thing. There are so many more people on facebook than myspace or twitter. I am pretty sure it is has more people then myspace and twitter combined. you are more likely to find your friends on facebook than twitter. That is because facebook is BETTER.

facebook is pretty much better overall. It is much more convinient. It has many more people than myspace and twitter combined, and you also get all the fun games and things to do. So my question for you is, witch is better, twitter myspace or facebook? leave a comment below telling all others what one you think is better than all the rest.
